Biography:
Ms Linda LAM Mei-sau is the Chairperson of the Equal Opportunities Commission (EOC). She takes charge of the Commission’s efforts to eliminate discrimination through the enforcement of the anti-discrimination ordinances and promote equality of opportunities and the value of inclusion in the community.
Ms Lam had a distinguished career in the Department of Justice that spanned 29 years. She was appointed as Crown Counsel in 1994 and had worked in various posts in different legal divisions of the Department of Justice. She was promoted through the ranks to become Principal Government Counsel in 2018. In 2021, she was appointed Law Officer and held the position of Law Officer (International Law) until 2022. In her position as Law Officer (International Law), she provided legal advice on the international law aspects of a wide range of government policies, including the implementation of bilateral and multilateral international obligations, trade and investment law, and the management of consular corps and their privileges.
Ms Lam was called to the English Bar (Gray’s Inn) and the Hong Kong Bar in 1991. She was also admitted as an advocate and solicitor in Singapore in 1993.
